FleetTrack Mobile – digitising national fleet operations

Prism Technologies partnered with a Nigerian haulage company to build Android/iOS apps and an operations dashboard that keeps managers, drivers, and finance teams aligned—even with limited connectivity on the road.

Mobile Apps Fleet & Logistics Product Delivery

Client

Leading Nigerian logistics provider operating 200+ vehicles across five states.

Engagement

Product discovery, UX/UI design, mobile + web engineering, DevOps, enablement.

Timeline

12 weeks to MVP launch · ongoing optimisation retainer.

The challenge

Dispatch teams relied on paper manifests, WhatsApp voice notes, and spreadsheets to track trips, cash collections, and maintenance. Information gaps led to revenue leakage, delayed reconciliations, and minimal visibility for executives.

  • No central system for drivers, mates, and dispatch supervisors.
  • Manual reconciliation of trip revenue could take 2–3 days.
  • Maintenance and compliance reminders were often missed.

Our approach

We embedded with operations, finance, and IT stakeholders to map workflows. Discovery revealed the need for offline-first capabilities, biometric security, and a single source of truth for vehicle, driver, and trip data.

  • Conducted journey mapping workshops with dispatch teams in Sagamu and Lagos.
  • Prototyped dashboards and mobile interfaces tested with 12 drivers.
  • Defined KPIs: reconciliation time, trip completion rate, maintenance backlog.

Solution snapshot

Driver & mate mobile app

  • Biometric login and user verification to reduce fraud.
  • Offline trip capture with automatic sync when network returns.
  • Expense logging, odometer tracking, and incident reporting.

Operations & finance dashboard

  • Real-time visibility on trip status, revenue, and outstanding tasks.
  • Maintenance scheduling and compliance reminders.
  • Finance reconciliation module with exportable reports for accounting.

Architecture & integrations

Built with React Native, Vue, Node.js, and PostgreSQL, hosted on AWS with automated CI/CD. Integrated with the client’s existing telematics provider, SMS gateway, and accounting software (Sage Evolution).

  • Containerised deployment with GitHub Actions and AWS ECS.
  • Role-based access control with fine-grained permissions per department.
  • Audit logging and encrypted storage for sensitive records.

Results

  • 60% reduction in manual reconciliation time within the first month.
  • 32% improvement in on-time trip completion thanks to proactive maintenance and alerts.
  • 100% driver adoption with biometric login and multilingual UI.
